West Point

We made a quick visit to West Point academy this past weekend. The campus is on lock down for security purposes and you have take a bus tour to see the main campus. Since all the adults had been there before we opted not to drag the children on a bus for an hour to see the campus. Instead we had them try on military uniforms at the visitors center.

Blog Update day

Last week I had a baby shower to go to for a good friend. I wasn't quite sure what to do, and then found this adorable pattern for crocheted baby booties and knitted hat.

1/2 Update

Scott didn't have to use his imagination because he has skills.

1/2

Jackson is 6 months today. When my nephew, Johnny, turned 6 months Jessamyn made the most adorable "1/2" hat. I did not make any such hat, but here is a picture of the hat J made. Imagine it on Jack's head.

Fast.

How do you know when your children are growing up too fast?

When your four year old asks you for skechers...

and your 5 month old starts crawling.

Boat Day

My mom bought the children coordinating sailor outfits that are pretty cute. Lilly was in heaven wearing her "boat" dress. She has since asked me if we could pretend that our house was church so she could wear her "boat" dress all the time.

We took a bunch of pictures and I can never decide which ones I like the best. These are the pictures that I like the best today.

Lilly offered a prayer at lunch today that just made me laugh. I am sure your kids say adorable prayers too, but this one had to be recorded.

Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the day.
Spring is here...and the birds are going crazy.
I like s'mores because I never had them before.
Grandma liked s'mores when she came.
Amen

Jack update:
My last blog post was composed while Jackson was screaming his little head off for 45 minutes at 1am. The following night he only cried for 10 minutes in the night and last night he slept from 7pm until 5:45am. We are on the right track!

For Jack

Dear Jack,

Please believe me when I tell you that it is absolute torture hearing you cry. Like I told you earlier today, letting you cry through the night is going to be harder on me than it is on you. You hopefully wont remember the screaming nor will you be traumatized for life by it. I spent the day hugging, kissing, and holding you to make us feel better. See, the thing is, we need to sleep. We can't have you waking up 3 times a night every night, it's not working out anymore.

You may think I'm not here right now, but I am. I am right outside your door, you just can't see me. I am peeking through the cracks to make sure you're still breathing (in between screams) and that you're not stuck on your stomach.

As soon as you can sleep through the night Lilly is going to move in with you. She wants your room to be the sleeping room and her room to be the play room. Hopefully that's incentive for you to hurry up through this phase and get onto peaceful baby sleeping.

I love you and we'll get through this. (One of us will get through it by pacing and eating cookies).

Love,
Mom, mama, or mommy (You can call me whatever you like, Lilly rotates those 3 names)
