The Sweater

Don't worry, if there aren't enough pictures today, I have more. A lot more. I used baby bambool to make this sweater. Translate: softest yarn ever.

My sweater makes Jack happy.

Exciting!

This is a very exciting day for me. In terms of yarn, this is the most exciting knitting day I have ever had. (I know you're trying to remember which knitting day was your most exciting) I finished my first article of clothing!

I started a sweater vest for Jackson before Easter, as in 5 months ago, and I finished it today! Just in time for him to wear it twice before he grows out of it.
He is sleeping right now, so he can't model and I was just too excited to not share with someone. We will have a photo shoot this weekend and I will post an obnoxious amount of photos then.

(Don't look close, just admire from afar)

9 Months

Jack turned 9 months yesterday. Here are his stats: He has one tooth, eats everything we eat ( or tries to), and still sleeps at 6:30 pm. He has started walking along with his push rider and pulls himself up on everything. He can pull himself up on the wall by using this spiderman technique. He is a fast crawler. I realize this is totally bragging and indulgent on my part, but what are blogs for other than to praise our kids/signifigant others, etc.??
Here is another indulgent video just for the grandmas and aunts.

Picky clarification

In my earlier post, Picky?, I stated that I already had two picky eaters and worried about a third one. I just wanted to clarify that the two picky eaters are Lilly and Jim and that I am worried about Jack being the third picky eater. (No third baby on the way)

Garden

Jim's garden has been very successful this year. We have had radishes, sugar peas, zucchini, cucumbers, green peppers, and now tomatoes. I also have a picture from the mystery plant, which is now indeed a pumpkin plant. We are all very excited about the surprise pumpkin growing from the compost.

Picture update

On Saturday we went to a party with Jim's group of high school friends. It was a lot of fun, he has really good friends. On the way to the party we stopped at Rickets Glenn which is a park of waterfalls. It was gorgeous. We are going to go back soon so we can check out all the waterfalls.

Sunday we went to an old fashioned hymn sing down at the river as part of our town festival. It was great. We were the youngest people by a good 30 years, which made me kind of sad. In 20-30 years when all those people are gone, who will go to the hymn sing??

This morning we went to the splash park and Lilly had a blast. She always loves the water and runs constantly, I couldn't get the child to stand still for a picture, she was too busy having fun!

Picky?

I already have two picky eaters on my hand and I am worried about a third.

New Mornings

Do you see my header picture? That is how our mornings used to be. Sweet and calm.

Sometimes they start like that.

But they usually turn into this...

and end up like this....

I eventually have to get out of bed and make breakfast. Breakfast is rather entertaining for me, just like the video clips below. They are entertaining for me and close relatives, pretty boring for everyone else (consider yourself warned). To say the least breakfast usually ends with both the children crawling on the floor, one eating leftover cereal and the other just yelling.

Happy 7.

At the last minute Jim and I were able to go to NYC for our 7th anniversary. Thanks to our friend Britten who insisted on taking our kids for us, we had a wonderful time.

It just so happened to be restaurant week in NYC, which means all the fancy restaurants have fixed price three course meals for around $25. We were able to have lunch at the plaza which was wonderful.

I took pictures at the plaza since it was our first stop in NY. Then I left my camera in the hotel room which ended my picture taking fun in NY. This was not on purpose.

After lunch we checked into our hotel near central park and hit the streets.

After the show I stopped in at a bakery that was voted best cupcakes in NYC. They were so delicious I ate them after the show AND for breakfast.

In the morning we went for a jog in central park and ate a NY bagel. After that we drove down to Soho so I could find the yarn shop that I blog stalk and check out all the cool boutiques. We had some great NY pizza from Famous Ben's Pizza which was feautred in Men in Black II and then we headed back home. We had a wonderful weekend together.

8 months

Jackson turned 8 months last week. He doesn't ever stop moving, so this was the best I could do for a picture. He has like four teeth coming in at one time which explains the surly face. He is so miserable with the teething that I have taken him to the doctor twice to make sure the screaming wasn't related to something else.

Jackson stats: He weighs17 lbs, usually sleeps from 6:30PM until 5am, has a bottle and goes back to sleep until 7 or 8. (I have now jinxed myself and no doubt he will awake like 6 times tonight. ) He does not like baby food in the form of chicken, green beans, or peas. He does love baby puffs, broken bread, and any other table food he can get his hands on. He likes to put everything in his mouth, he crawls very fast and pulls himself up on the couches. Lilly is still his best entertainment and when I try to change his diapers he rolls over and crawls away before I can even think about the diaper. Jackson likes it when we sing to him, but he would rather eat the books when we try to read to him.

Mystery plant update: It's a Pumpkin!!
