March 2014 Phone Update

Jack fell asleep in a big pile of pillows and blankets, reading his lego book.

Lucy is adorable.

Jack was determined to play on his scooter in the 20 degree weather. He dressed himself in spiderman pants, mickey mouse, shirt, spiderman jacket, monster rain boots, and went outside to ride his Cars scoter.

Lucy will get into anything she can.

Lucy was so excited to sit in a cart during our target shopping trip that she never complained or cried.

Jack was determined not to go to bed. He eventually fell asleep on the floor.

Lucy in her new shades.

Lucy loves music. She loves when she gets a turn at the piano instead of waiting for all my students to finish.

This day Lucy refused to nap. So finally around 2:30 I gave up and went to the store.  She rode in the cart like this through the entire store (because she was so tired) and still stubbornly stayed awake until we got home.  She finally fell asleep at 3:30 for a 45 minute nap.  Isn't that behavior for a 3 year old??

Some lovely soul sent my children a Happy Spring basket filled with delicious treats and fruits. They were so excited I could barely get them to sit for the picture. Which is why it's a little blurry. They commenced ripping open the basket and eating all the contents. Chocolate covered peeps are indeed delicious.

This year Lilly talked me into the optional science fair at school.  Since her father is a researcher by profession, he and Lilly did the project together.  I was very proud of her for wanting to participate in optional science. And very proud of my scientist/researcher husband for helping.
(More pics on the science fair later).

Lucy found the wipes.  All of them.

This is Lilly's bunny that is on display at the grocery store from her art class.

This girl has become SO strong from gymnastics and cheerleading.  Check out her muscles.

3/31/14 - Two hour delay with so much snow on the ground that Lilly built another snowman.
Hopefully the last snowman of spring 2014?? I don't want to jinx anything.

My girls

Lilly has adored Lucy from the moment she was born.  She is a doting big sister.

On my birthday Lilly and her cheerleading team cheered at Bucknell University for a girls basketball game.  It was a great experience.

I had a friend who never took music lessons her entire life and every week at her son's piano lessons she would get a little teary with pride and amazement.  I feel the exact same way every time I see my Lilly participate in gymnastics or cheerleading. Here are some blurry phone pics from that day.

Lucy is 11 months!

My baby is almost one! Lilly described Lucy as: cute;smart; and brave.  Those are excellent descriptions.  Lucy is much like her Uncle Oliver in that she likes to roam as she pleases without people getting in her way and she likes to explore everything she can find.  She usually comes back for meals and the occasional hug to make sure we're still there.

She is just starting to get her first teeth, late bloomer, and she sleeps 12-13 hours a night. However, her day time sleep is sporadic at best. She is my best eater.  Today for lunch she ate 1.5 bananas and an entire tortilla and some baby puffs.  I'm pretty sure that's more than Jack ate last week. She also loves greek yogurt, and will eat an entire adult portion in one sitting.  The only food she has not liked is avocado and chicken.  She loves pasta and pretty much everything we eat.  In fact if we're eating something that she is not, she will yell and let herself be known that she would like to share as well.

(Lucy's eyes are THAT blue and Lilly's cheeks and lips are THAT pink.)

I have heard people claim that their baby can say words and I never believed them. Until now.  Lucy makes a lot of sounds that sound just like words.  Words we have believed her to say are: Dada, Mama, bye, hi, Jack. We will say that her first word is Dada.

She sucks her thumb when she is tired or needs to console herself and is always on the go.  I miss the days when she would let me cuddle her, although sometimes I can put my cheek on her cheek and she will let me stay there for a few seconds. She has adorable fat rolls and it looks like she has rubber bands around her wrists, which is just about the cutest thing you have ever seen. Her eyes are the bluest eyes I have ever seen. She loves to wave and clap and is such a happy girl.  We pretty much love her to pieces.

34

My birthday

I celebrated my 34th birthday last week. Which is funny, because I am pretty sure I am only 24.  For the last couple of years my mom has come to my house for my birthday so she could babysit my children while I enjoy a night out with Jim. Among the other presents, she gave me a flash drive with over 600 scanned pictures from my childhood. Amazing. Here are some birthdays past.
