We went to lunch with some friends for Jim's birthday. They bought him this denim vest as a joke and he wore it for the rest of the day. 

They really know how to embarrass someone on their birthday at the hibachi grill 

My friend, Molly, made this amazing hiking cake for Jim. Those boots are made from fondant. I have more pictures from my camera to post later. 

Happy birthday, Jim! Definitely my favorite  holiday. 

Knoebels

We went to knoebels Friday night after the first two days of school. We were all exhausted! However, I will never get over living so close to an amusement park that we can enter for free. I love knoebels! We didn't get there until 7:30, so no pictures at the park. I did grab this one of every single one of them asleep in the car. That is a rare sight!

First day of school

Phone pictures from the first morning of school. They were SO excited. 

I forgot to explain to Jack that when he wakes up for school he has to get dressed, eat and leave. This was very upsetting for him when he couldn't play on his schedule. 

Our next door neighbors- the school crew is expanding this year. Poor Lucy tried to come too!

My poor Lucy was so sad to not go with her siblings, I had to cheer her up! I took her to meet some of HER friends at the open gym time at the gymnastics sports plex. I took Lilly there at this age, and then Jack, and now it's Lucy's turn. 

4th grade open house!

4th grader headed to Liberty Valley.

Her teacher this year is Mrs. Lowe. 4th grade changes classes three times a day, she will have 2 other teachers she sees during the day on her team.

4th grade has a garden they tend, how great is that?

We ran into our friends who moved in last year who just happen to have the same age kids as we do!

Last day of summer 2015

Last day of summer!! We went to the pool with friends for our last afternoon of freedom.

More open house pictures from my phone

It was just the three of us for Jack's open house. He was so excited!

I made him say hello to his teacher before he bolted for the toys. 

And of course we had to check out the playground. Don't mind the bright sun and Jack's squinty eyes. 

Lilly and Jack had a lot of sleepovers this summer. Makes my heart happy. They like to crash in my room because we have a really strong AC window unit. They're getting a little heavy to carry back to bed!

Lilly's open house was the following night. More pictures to come, but she did steal a selfie on the drive to her school. 

Kindergarten Open House

We attended the kindergarten open house at Jack's new school.  He is thrilled to begin Kindergarten this Thursday.  All I could think of was all the time we spent playing legos and games and cuddling for shows, and now he wants to leave me.  Which is of course a great thing, he needs to learn, but that initial change is always hard for me.

Jack's teacher is Mr. Walter. We met him tonight and he seems great. 

Jack can't wait to go to kindergarten forever.

Lucy sat in his chair the entire time, determined to go to school as well.

Then we checked out the rest of the school and Jack loved it all! After watching Lilly go to the same school for three years, he's pretty excited for his turn.

Jack was really excited to find that the librarian has the same stuffed hedge hog that Jack has at home.  His hedge hog is called, Maniac.

He is thrilled to start kindergarten!
