Rock climbing

I was brave and tried rock climbing. I was not terrible and did not have any PTSD of never climbing the rope in gym.  Win!

And uncle Oliver playing Legos with Jack!

NYC

A small group of friends and I went to NYC for two days. We had a fabulous time! We reveled in our short break as mothers and remembered that we were people first.  We had great fun and adventures and really enjoyed taking care of ourselves.

We stumbled onto this food truck lot called Broadway bites that had the most delicious food.

These are fried balls of rice and cheese. I tried something similar in Rome and I made all the girls try the NYC version with me. They did not disappoint!

Shopping at Macy's.

Followed by an early dinner at Max Brenner's chocolate bar. So very delicious.

Then we went to see the Rockefeller tree, which was from Danville this year! This was before it was finished so it was under scaffolding.
We went to NYC the second weekend in November when all the decorations are going up with none of the crowds, best time to go!

Friday night we had tickets to Once and Saturday morning a few of us got tickets to see the Christmas spectacular at radio city music hall. It really is spectacular.

Here we are in front of the Swarovski crystal star for the top of the tree (before it went ON the tree).

So many crystals!

Then I fulfilled a long time dream of eating dessert at Serendipity. The dessert was delicious, better to share with others. I was disappointed by the frozen hot chocolate, but loved all the other desserts.

I think we waited in the cold (outside) for over an hour, but all agreed it was worth it, despite the cold and our exhaustion.

I happened to capture this selfie with a heart light around my eye.

It was a fantastic weekend. We were all grateful to our husbands for keeping our babies so we could remember that we're still people.

updates

Well it's that time of year that I need to sum up all of my 2014 posts. And I am really behind!!
It's not that I dislike blogging or that three children have pushed me over the edge (that may be partially the reason), it's that my computer has moved on to windows 8 and I just can't get on board with windows 8.  I'll try to get over it and be more attentive. Thus begins my make up posts.

Lucy had a hard time adapting to winters and layers, can you blame her?

She also thinks all things "doll" are really for her use only.

Jack crashed in my bed for an afternoon nap.

Lucy and her baby doll (that she adopted from Lilly).

Thanksgiving-with a lot of imagination needed.

Thanksgiving was so fun that we forgot to take any pictures. My brother and his wife came in for the holiday and we had a lovely time.  We had Thanksgiving in Alexandria with my dad and then went on to spend time with my mom.

Picking up Oliver and Dantzel at the airport.

Snacking...

Jack fast asleep after the fun day

Oliver and Jack playing Legos.

And that is all the pictures I took for thanksgiving. Did you like how I left out most of the people and festivity?

A short phone update

The packages for Christmas have started arriving...we mostly do online shopping as we don't have many stores nearby.

Lucy figured out how to clim the ladder on the bunk bed, I grabbed a quick picture and then removed Lucy and the ladder. The ladder is now hidden during the day.

My poor Lucy had a virus with a high fever that lasted a few days. She's better now but took a long nap in my bed one afternoon.

Cuddling in bed.

December 6, 2014

We happened onto Santa and Mrs. Claus at dunkin donuts.

Lucy didn't cry, but she didn't smile. She wasn't about to let her brother out-sit her on Santa's lap.

Thanks for the donut, Santa...

We just put up our tree and Jack begged to put on the star.

Thank you, Jack. The tree looks lovely.

I still have some pictures that need to be posted, but I just found an app to blog from my phone which will be perfect for my phone updates!!

Quick update

I'm still behind on pictures, so this post won't have pictures but a quick thought. My kids are sweet and say cute kid things that need to be documented.
Yesterday Lucy sneezed on Jack's book and he started yelling "Lucy bless you'd on my book!!!"

Lucy's first official word was "shoes."  This girl loves shoes. She wants them on first thing in the morning and changes through hew few pairs throughout the day. She loves everyone else's shoes too. Her first official sentence was "I need milk." She is an excellent communicator, mostly with emphatic nods or a clear yes or no, she can tell you what she wants.
