Lilly turns 11

I started this blog for Lilly when she turned 2. Now she is 11 and it's hard to believe.  She is bursting with personality, opinions, and artistic flair. She loves all things creative. She made her own cupcakes to take to school while I napped, because she loves to bake. For her birthday, in lieu of a party, we made a trip to the King of Prussia mall outside Philadelphia.  She shopped for a solid 8 hours with her bestie, Emma, until I declared the day over.

She bought herself fake glasses, a beret, an Eiffle tower necklace, and other accessories for herself. It was fun to watch her shop and enter that tricky age or tweens. She still wants to play with dolls and she wants to have an iphone with the latest apps.

(Jack joined another family and they invited him to stay for lunch, eye roll. He took their pizza before we could stop him. Ha!)

On Lilly's birthday we surprised her with a cake made by our friend Molly and met up with some friends for dinner. Not bad for a Monday birthday! Lilly's favorite animal is the panda and her favorite colors are purple and green,

Blogging

I started this blog in February 2008, 9 years ago.  I stopped blogging last May (2016), and I have to be honest: I miss it! I am sad that I don't have an easy place to look at memories.  I am going to make another attempt at blogging now that I have a working laptop again.

As to not get discouraged, I am going to work backwards.

I got out my camera yesterday and took some pictures of James.  He looks like Lucy, below is a side by side of the two. Lucy on the left,  James on the right.

Hopefully more to come!

It's picture time for gymnastics - we opted to take individual pictures at home.

Lacrosse

Lilly started playing lacrosse last year, in third grade.  She played in several of their month long clinics, but this year she joined the full competitive season.  There are 2-3 practices a week along with weekly games. My initial inclination was to say, NO WAY, we have too much going on.  I'm really glad I didn't because this girl loves lacrosse. She talks about it and can't wait for her 90 minute practice.

Here are some pictures form practice.  Jack also likes to tag along and play in the gravel track around the field.

The girls played in a tournament on Saturday. They played 7 games. Each game lasted 18 minutes and then they had an 18 minute break. We were at the field from 9:30-3. It was so fun to watch Lilly play all day. Great experience for the girls.

Next game, I am going to try and get pictures of the cleats. All the girls have crazy neon cleats. Very colorful!

Lucy's "dupay"

Lucy was thrilled to have a birthday, and talked about it for months in advance.  We had an Elsa themed birthday and Princess Anna showed up to wish Lucy a happy birthday.
