Bloomsburg fair 2015
We ventured out in the rain last night to visit the Bloomsburg fair, a Pennsylvania tradition.
Lilly's school won first place for their art display. She made one of the "terra cotta" soldiers on display.

Fun run
Jack's school had a fun run fundraiser today. What a great idea! Keep kids healthy by running and raising money that doesn't involve buying candy or junk. Win win!
Before all that, Jack and I stood on the porch for a minute, loving the early sky.
No editing or filters on these pictures. The pink and purple dissipate very quickly, but I'm so grateful to sneak a peak. One day I may be able to sit and watch the sky and not rush around packing lunches and making breakfast.
I let Lucy dress herself today- because I didn't think she was going to be seen in public. She ended up coming to the fun run with her friend, Hannah. If you're wondering, she has on a size 4-6 dance leotard underneath a size 8-10 dance outfit. With crocs on the wrong feet.
Jack was so excited to have us there for the run. At one point he was holding hands with a boy, helping him run faster. He yelled to me "Mom-this is the boy that we punch each other at lunch!" They've already had discipline for lunch time punching, but I couldn't help but laugh at the great introduction.

Monday, Monday
Today I woke up at 4:45 AM. I couldn't go back to sleep so I started my day. Which seemed to give me more time to take pictures. Jack and I went out on the porch to watch the beautiful sky.
After our morning we ran all day long and didn't stop until around 7 PM.
It was the first chilly morning at the bus stop. 45 degrees. We'll be crying to have 45 degree weather come February.
Lucy has been sleeping in most mornings. When she wakes up she asks me where each family member has gone for the day. Then she picks out her clothes.
Lucy had to change outfits to go grocery shopping.
After school Lilly tried out a free Irish Step class with the understanding that she would not actually enroll in Irish step, but just take advantage of the trial lesson. Jack and Lucy also joined the lesson. Jack got a little frustrated and Lucy got a little too vocal. She LOVED dance class and waltzed to the front row and spoke as loudly as the teacher. We let Lilly finish the class on her own.

Saturday work
We spent part of our Saturday tackling the lilac tree area in the backyard. You can see a semi before picture below. I had already hacked off a lot of branches in this picture.
Jim then came in with his saw and trimmed back more branches and helped move heavy rocks. The kids helped shovel and weed.
The great thing about this Saturday is that we only had one thing planned (Jack's soccer game). I woke up feeling like tackling some yard work and everyone woke up and felt like joining me. There was no forced labor involved! Jack even pointed out that we were working like a teamwork.
And here you can see that we mulched and put down some rocks where the weeds were once rampant. I still have another third of the area to finish, but we made great progress today!

Fall is in the air
It's getting a little cooler out, which means I'm more inclined to spend time outside! We went on a ️family walk and only Lilly dressed for the fall like weather. Boots! I love boot weather!!
The kids always talk about our shadows as we walk, and since the sun was shining we took a family shadow picture.
Here are my babies at the bus stop this morning. I had to force Jack to wear pants to school. The low was 50 and the high 70, it's a good day to reintroduce long pants. Jack does not like the season changes that involve wardrobe changes. He does not want to give up his "short pants" at the end of summer, nor does he want to give up his "long pants" at the end of winter and spring. Jack also does not like clothing touching his wrists or ankles. Everything needs to be rolled or too small. Sweet kid with very specific clothing and food needs.
