June 1

Jim's Uncle Tom and Aunt Pat came to visit us today from Texas. It was so wonderful to visit with them, they are great to our children, funny, and easy to get along with. We went out to dinner and got ice cream from the dairy freeze.

Here is a picture of Lilly teaching Aunt Pat how to use the i-pad.

After dinner Jim came home and harvested the first of our summer crops. A radish. Doesn't it look beautiful? I have never tried a radish before, but since this was grown in my own dirt I had to try it. At first it is pleasant and tolerable then it turned to wretched horribleness in my mouth. At least that was my opinion. Radish, not a fan.

What!? How can you not like radishes?? At least it's beautiful though right?:) We just picked our first cucumber (ever) yesterday. Maybe I'll get brave and try radishes next year...

Lilly is brilliant.
I never really understood radishes.

Radishes must be a PA thing, I like them.

Ha! Radishes are way gross. I would have thought they would taste a little better if you grow them yourself. Not so, eh? Look at you livin' off the land! Amazing!
