At the beginning of the month we had the most incredible double rainbow right over our house. The pictures do not do it justice, but Lilly and I were outside in the sprinkling rain amazed by the rainbow.
(This is the view across the street from our front yard. You can kind of see the second band.)
(It was a perfect rainbow arc, right over our street.)
The first weekend in May was my half marathon. The race also coincided with Spring Fling, a street festival in town. Before I had even finished the race, Lilly asked me if she could get her face painted. I was running to the finish line and she was shouting "Can I PLEASE get my face painted?" The face painting line was really long, so I said no. Luckily for her, she has a really nice Dad who took her back later in the day to get her face painted.
After the face painting and my 3 hour nap we took the kids to the drive in (the only movie theater in Danville) in our "new to us" mini van. We positioned the car so the kids could watch some kids pirate movie in the back and we could watch The Avengers in the front.
Drive-in's are not what they used to be (or so I am guessing, I have only ever been to a drive-in here in Danville, as an adult). You listen to the movie through your radio, which poses a dilemma when you are trying to watch two movies at one time.
We had a plan though. We parked the car in front of the screen playing the kids movies and had the kids watch from the back of the van. The other cars were playing the radio loud enough that the children could hear from their radios. We put our radio in the front speakers of the car and tuned in to watch The Avengers, our drive-in is fancy and has three screens.
Lilly fell asleep right away, which was always my master plan, to have the children fall asleep right away so we could watch The Avengers. However, Jack would not be lulled into peaceful slumber. He climbed all over us and the car and took the opportunity to sit in Lilly's booster seat while she was sleeping (during the movie). He climbed up and finished the end of our movie with us and didn't fall asleep until we pulled into our driveway.
More May updates to come...

I remember drive-ins! We used to love them. You could bring any kind of food and drink you wanted. The only one left here is x-rated and also uses the radio - or so I'm told!
Delighted here too!
