Where was I?

I just returned from being on vacation for a long time.  Which means I have 1000 pictures on my camera plus all the one's on my computer waiting to be shared.  Let's jump right in, shall we?

2nd grade is starting next week so I need to be caught up...

PHONE UPDATE:

At one point all three children were sucking their thumbs in the car.  After I got a picture I yelled at all of them to stop with threats of ruined teeth and germs.  I am sure there will be no psychological damage at all.

The zucchini ran amok in our garden this year, however,  it makes delicious muffins and bread!

We had our ten year anniversary on July 19.  I pulled out my dress for Lilly to try on, Jim took the day off of work and Lilly decorated the house and made cards.  She is a very thoughtful child and was so excited for our anniversary.  Jim and I went to knoebels for a night out. It was only 105 degrees, so completely brutal weather, but it cooled off and we had a great time! Some very kind friends from our ward offered to babysit for us on our anniversary and they brought us a delicious chocolate cake and card. Very thoughtful!

The weekend of our anniversary was Danville's annual iron heritage festival.  This year the theme was "Civil War," if you know me you know I have an aversion to the civil war.  Yet I somehow agreed to drag my children to some of the events.  They seemed to enjoy it, except for the civil war battle of the bands (which was my favorite part).  I texted some of the pictures below to my parents with the text "Continuing the tradition of boring children at civil war events." I have walked the thin line of sassy/funny my entire life.

Lilly was in the IHF parade.  Sadly Lucy, Jack, and I could not attend because it was 105 degrees with some sort of insane humidity and that is too much for a tiny baby (and most humans/mammals). Jim was great and marched along the parade route to provide water for Lilly and he sent me pictures along the way.

Lucy in as much pink as I could find to compensate for the bald head.

Lilly might be the best big sister you have ever seen.  She regularly says to me that Lucy is just like a dream that she could never imagine having a baby sister, a dream come true.

Jack took Lucy's swing, which is fine because she isn't that interested in it yet.

Then some week in July we took a walk down to the farmers market and happened upon the Danville town mural project.  We all painted a flower or two and Lilly added some butterfly's.
