Dance

Last night the primary school put on a family dance.

The minute we got in the gym she was off running around with friends from her class. She picked a special outfit, that seemed to channel a 1980's Madonna look.

I know you're wondering, do the children still dance to the YMCA and the Macarena?

Yes, yes they do. One of the cool mom's taught these girls the YMCA.

This picture is my favorite, I just wish it wasn't blurry.  You can see the look of urgency in her face to find her friend and tell her everything that is happening in her life.

I wish I could have captured it better, because it was unbelievable for me to watch.  I could picture Lilly's teenage years starting a tad early.  She was too cool and slightly embarrassed by her mom.

Jack either wanted to dance with his dad or his neighbor girlfriend, who is a bit young for him if you ask me (16 months old).  Mostly Jim and Jack hung out by the snack table.

After the dance I tried to get Lilly to tell me everything about her life.

I desperately wanted to be one of those little girls that she told all her secrets to, but she already instinctively knows it's not cool to tell your mom everything.  Luckily for me it's still cool to have bedtime stories, kisses, hugs, and lots of love at home.

Lilly is such a little doll baby. I am so proud of her mother.
